Calling YOU!
All Preppers, Family, & Friends of The Prep...
the students need your support for the beginning of this new school year!!!
Each year on the first day of school, alumni, family, and friends of The Prep line the entrance and halls. They pray and cheer on our amazing new and returning students as they enter the historic building located at 5116 Magazine St. Prep has been a model of resilence since its inception. On the very first day of school in 1915 a major hurricane passed over New Orleans, and the school day still carried on. But our mission to celebrate, encourage, and pray for our students will continue, as it did on our first day, 105 years ago.
Our greatest concern at St. Katharine Drexel Prep is the health, safety, and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff. In the light of COVID-19, St. Katharine Drexel Prep will begin the 2020 - 2021 school year in a Virtual setting. This year the faculty and staff of SKDP will embark on a mission to prepare these young ladies for life through the theme for this school year "Synergy for Education."
We know that you believe in our talented young ladies and the mission of St. Katharine Drexel. We appreciate that you understand the importance of just what a Prep education means to each student but also to their families and overall, our community.
What can you do to help? Take a few minutes out of your day and let the students know just how special they are and that you are there for them!
You can participate if your near or far:
- Write a prayer
- Write a letter of encouragement
- Create a video
(You can do this for a particular student, the entire student body, a faculty member, or the entire staff.)
We will need your prayer, letter, or video by Friday, August 21st at 12 noon by submitting via email advancement@drexelprep.com (The earlier you send it the better.) If you need any assistance please contact Marcia V Gaspard, Director of Advancement, via phone/text 504-399-8118 or via email advancement@drexelprep.com
We are so excited about the possibilities of this new school year and that you are with us along this journey. We thank you for your decision to stay close to SKDP and to pray for and support. We thank you for being part of the Prep Family and your dedication to the mission of St. Katharine Drexel and its amazing students.
