St. Katharine Drexel Prep was supposed to be too young to win a state championship. The Yellow Jackets, after all, didn't have any juniors or seniors in their starting lineup. But that didn't stop Terry Wilson's team from winning the division III state championship and delivering the school's first basketball championship trophy to Magazine Street. The e-Rate program provides K-12 schools with significant discounts on all aspects of telecommunications, internet access, and the necessary internal connections. Discount rates of 20% – 90% became effective January 1, 1998.

SKDP students, parents, staff, Alumni and other stakeholders are encouraged to participate in the development of the 1:1 digital learning initiative which will provide Chromebooks for students to use during school hours as well as beyond the school day at multiple sites (for example, at a student’s home, local library, etc.).
